An 11-year-old boy has been arrested after a lady and teenage woman have been indecently assaulted, and three different ladies have been approached by a person with a knife.
Avon and Somerset Police stated the five incidents happened within the Redcliff and Montpelier areas of Bristol between March 20-25.
Officers attended each incident, but the offender had already left the world by the point they arrived.
In separate incidents between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on March 20, three ladies have been approached by a person with a knife who then ran away.
Two days later, a person approached a lady just before 9.30pm. He claimed to have a knife and indecently assaulted the lady over her clothing earlier than trying to take her telephone.
On March 25, a person indecently assaulted a 14-year-old woman at about four.30pm.
Detectives are treating the incidents as probably linked because of the places where they befell and some similarities in the descriptions of the offender.
The pressure stated an 11-year-old boy has now been arrested in reference to the incidents.
Appearing Chief Inspector Tom Gent, of Avon and Somerset Police, stated: 'We continue to carry out inquiries into each of those incidents and remain open minded as as to if they are linked.
'The individual we've arrested is a toddler and we've interviewed him alongside an applicable adult to see if he has any details about the incidents which might assist our investigation.
'We are also partaking with our statutory partners as part of our safeguarding duties.
'The nature of the offences is concerning and officers proceed to focus on their patrols to offer reassurance and to behave as a deterrent.'
The boy was taken into custody on April 1 earlier than being released on bail with circumstances to stay at house between 7pm and 7am.
His arrest adopted a public attraction for witnesses to the incidents, and any footage that would help officers of their investigation, on March 26.
