AN ICONIC Porsche raced around by a legendary driver is about to go underneath the hammer for an eye-popping £4million.
The 1981 Porsche 917 Okay-81 is the final of its variety and was the last of the mannequin to compete on the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The beautiful yellow motor was constructed by Le Mans-winning staff Kremer Racing with full co-operation from Porsche AG.
After a recent engine rebuild in 2019, the modern racing vehicle has had restricted use – giving it a clean and sharp aesthetic.
In accordance with the listing on RM Sotheby's, the "fastidiously maintained and impeccably introduced" motor can be a becoming "centrepiece for any appropriately discerning competition automotive assortment."
The 917 Okay-81 will go beneath the hammer at RM Sotheby's Monaco auction on the Grimaldi Discussion board on Might 10 and 11.
It's anticipated to fetch as a lot as £4,288,000.
