A young dog owner has gone into hiding after being arrested for allegedly 'torturing' a puppy whose injuries reduced an experienced vet to tears. The 20-year-old man is reportedly staying in a hotel following outrage online after his alleged mistreatment of the animal was publicised on Facebook. It is understood he was turned into the police by his furious mother, who then kicked out of the family home in Chester-Le-Street, Co Durham.
