Texans hand out huge $39m deal to Jalen Pitre... making him highest-paid NFL player in his position
The Houston Texans have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with standout safety Jalen Pitre. The deal is worth around $39illion, with $29m guaranteed, and makes Pitre the highest-paid nickel in the NFL. Pitre, 25, has carved out a crucial role in head coach DeMeco Ryans' defence. He has started all 46 regular season and playoff games he's played since being drafted by the Texans in 2022. Pitre managed 12 starts last season before suffering a torn pectoral that ruled him out for the rest of the year
