The Met Office has warned of a 'three-way cut up' in weather circumstances on Monday as the north of England is about to be battered by heavy rain.

Circumstances will differ wildly throughout the UK because of a band of rain stretching from southern Scotland to south west England, the forecaster stated.

This means temperatures will remain delicate in the south and east, but might be a lot colder for the rest of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Southern areas might even see highs of 14°C in some areas – which is above average for the time of yr – whereas some elements of Scotland will solely see highs of as much as 7°C.

A brand new yellow climate warning for rain comes into pressure at midday on Monday and shall be in place till 5am on Tuesday.

Masking giant elements of Lancashire and Cumbria, the Met Office predicts round 40-50mm of rain might fall on high floor, with the potential of localised disruption.

Craig Snell, meteorologist on the Met Workplace, stated: 'We've really received a weather entrance type of slicing the country and that's the place the rain band is – to the south of it we've acquired the milder air, to the north of it the colder.

'So it's going to be a cold entrance which is making an attempt to push that that milder air away. It in all probability gained't win the day within the south, it'll cling on to the milder air for a bit bit longer.'

Areas caught in the rain, together with southern Scotland, northern England and much of Wales, will see heavy and protracted showers in places and feel 'fairly miserable' till rush hour on Tuesday morning, Mr Snell added.
