As one of the first intimacy professionals to be recognized by SAG-AFTRA, Brooke M. Haney has become the go-to when it comes to choreographing sexually charged scenes.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Haney — who's served as an intimacy coordinator for Mayor of Kingstown, Elsbeth, The Best Man: The Final Chapters, Harlem and East New York — dished on what goes into overseeing sensitive sequences that translate into moments of passion onscreen and, most importantly, creating a safe space for the cast and crew.

"We joke that we're the only person production hires and pays to tell them no," Haney told Us while promoting their new book, The Intimacy Coordinator's Guidebook: Specialties for Stage and Screen. (Haney goes by they/she pronouns.)

Following the #MeToo movement, liaisons for actors and producers on projects where nudity may be involved became more prevalent. "Actors often say that they feel a lot safer with an intimacy coordinator," Haney, who has acted in the past, shared. "I don't think of my job as making actors feel safe — I think of it as making actors feel prepared because I can't define safety for someone else."

Michael Douglas Feels Like Intimacy Coordinators Take 'Control Away'

Haney's job starts with a meeting to understand the "vision" of the scene followed by discovering the "boundaries" of the actors involved.

"[I] meet with the director and producer in advance of shooting, and ask, 'What's the vision for this scene?' because ultimately, they're the storyteller," Haney said. "Then I meet with the actor and say, 'Here's the vision. What are your thoughts on the scene and what are your boundaries? Do your boundaries align with the way the director wants to tell this story?'"

"If they say, 'yes', great, we're good to go," Haney continued. However, often, "Actors will have a boundary [so] I'll go to the director and [say], 'We have a boundary, here are three other ways I think we can get your idea across in an equally or more compelling way. What do you think?'"

Two crucial elements in helping actors feel comfortable is letting them know what to expect ahead of time and considering the "different kinds of ways people have power," Haney shared, noting it's not rare for a rising actor working alongside an A-list star to be eager to impress the people they're working with.

"There's times when I work with an actor who [says], 'I don't need an intimacy coordinator, I feel totally fine articulating my boundaries,' and I'm like, 'Great, my job is not to be your voice,'" Haney continued. "If you feel confident, that's fantastic, [but] you're not the only one in the scene."

Steamiest TV Sex Scenes: From 'Bridgerton' to 'The Artful Dodger'

Filming threesomes or sex scenes with multiple participants can be more time-consuming and complex. "People's boundaries can be different with different people or around different actions," Haney explained, "so it's important I meet with each person individually and check in with them about everyone they're working with, and bring us together so we have a group understanding of what's going to happen."

Of course, there are certain things that are off-limits when it comes to filming sex scenes ("It's always fake, so any real sexual act is a no-no," Haney explained) but showmances can and do happen "quite frequently, honestly," which makes sense to Haney.

"One of the things we talk about in the book is about, in scenes of trauma and non-consent, asking actors to put their bodies into positions of fear or terror or rage, [that] our bodies don't know it's fake physiologically and still feel like they've gone through that — it's similar with intimacy," Haney explained. "If the screenwriter is giving you all the right words to say, and the choreography is giving you all the best choreography, it can feel really good."

Breaking Down Us' Most Anticipated Romantic Comedies of 2024

Still, an intimacy coordinator's job is to make sure that everything unfolding in production pertains to work. "I'm not going to be in charge of controlling what actors do on their own time. That's their business," Haney — who created The Actor's Warm Down, a 20-minute closure practice for actors who have worked on challenging projects — said. "But when we're at work, it should never be about their personal relationship, it should be about the characters."

There is only one goal when it comes to filming sex scenes, says Haney: "The audience should think it's real and the actors should feel like it's fake — sort of."

TARGET shoppers are being tested as they stand in long checkout lines to purchase a few items.

Ranting on social media about shopping trips gone wrong, some compared the checkout experience to long wait times at Walmart.

Lengthy checkout lines with few workers available have set off Target shoppers across the US.

Despite complaints about self-checkout, some customers are even yearning for the kiosks back.

"Why is the self-checkout lane closed?" questioned one user on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

"These lines [are] looking like Walmart. Girl fix this. I have three items," he continued.

The shopper said his five-minute trip turned into a 25-minute one because there were only two lanes open, with lines extending into the women's section.

Target responded to the post and said it's "prioritizing full-service check lanes to support [its] guests during the entire day and intends to open Express Self-Checkout to support busier times."

But many customers would classify their trips as happening in busy times, with another describing a 35-minute wait in line.

Posting from Jansen Beach in Portland, Oregon, another user described a line that was 26 people deep "with only one checkout person."

"You decided you didn't want people going through self-checkout," he continued. "And you are confused when people just walk out with stuff."

Meanwhile, a Target shopper in El Cajon, California posted a picture of the scene at their store.

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

"Once again. 10-15 people in every open line and self-checkout closed," he said.

The customer described self-checkout as "four lanes that move faster than any manned station" but "closed every single time and in no seemingly logical time frame either."

Target once again responded to the shopper, explaining that self-checkouts are open during busiest times, but that these times "might not be convenient for everyone."

The U.S. Sun reached out to Target in a request for comment.

SHIFTS AT THE SELF-CHECKOUT

Complaints are flying amid recent changes by the big box retailer to curb theft and prevent long lines at the self-checkout.

                        <p class="article__content--intro"> In April, Target launched its first-ever paid membership program, Target Circle 360. </p> </div> </div>

Many Targets across the US have implemented a 10 items or less policy at the kiosks — one many shoppers haven't taken to since its inception.

One shopper said they were kicked out of line for trying to scan 12 items instead of 10 and forced to wait in a long checkout line.

Meanwhile, others are annoyed by the lack of assistance at the kiosks, with some saying their stores lack attendants at the self-checkout.

Another new policy at the store set an age limit for who can shop alone.

Plus, Walmart made a controversial change that has some refusing to use self-checkout machines.

A COSTCO shopper explained how they were refunded $2,000 after returning a washer and dryer set after nearly a year.

Costco's famous 100% satisfaction guarantee policy does have a few exceptions.

A Costco shopper explained how they were able to return an old washer and dryer (stock image)[/caption]

Most electronics have a 90-day return limit, but one shopper explained how they were able to take back a washer and dryer after almost a year of use.

In a thread on Reddit, the Costco member said returning the items was their last choice.

"A store manager let me return a Costco.com washer/dryer set once, $2k, that was really junk, that really I had five service calls on over my 11 months of ownership," they wrote.

"I buy all things that I can buy from Costco. We have an executive membership and I'm sure we spend $60k there a year between all cardholders."

The executive membership is the top tier at Costco and costs $120 annually but includes a free household card for family members.

Another shopper had a similar story about an expensive vacuum they bought.

"I had the Tineco wet vacuum that would keep dying with the battery within minutes a few months in. Tineco warrantied the first and then the second unit had the same issue two months in," they wrote.

"Costco came to the rescue a year after purchase. Gotta love it – if you buy something that's crap, you don't have to worry."

AN EARLY WARNING

While these shoppers had no issue returning items, that isn't always the case.

Costco keeps a close eye on how many returns shoppers make to ensure they aren't taking advantage of the lenient policy.

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

But some people still push their luck.

In another Reddit thread, a shopper explained that an employee warned them about how many returns they made.

"I'm one of those frequent returners that doesn't give a f**k," they wrote in the post.

"My brother-in-law told me all the stories about people returning things years later, and he even returned his Traeger [grill] two years after he bought it."

They had returned a three-year-old beard trimmer missing some pieces and a $150 electric toothbrush in a short time span.

"Fast forward to today's return. The lady was like, 'Take this how you want, but out of the 20 things you've bought in my department, 12 have been returned,'" they wrote.

"She was nice about it, basically giving me a heads up that someone could think that was sketchy.

"I don't feel bad because I'm using the product, and if it breaks or stops working, I return it and buy another."

<p class="article__content--intro"> What are the details of the famous return policy? </p> </div> </div>

Even after the warning, they contemplated returning another pricey item, a Dyson vacuum.

"I mean, I've spent thousands there, but should I be worried about them blocking my membership?" they questioned.

Someone responded that they would likely be banned from making returns before their membership was revoked.

"It will come to the point that every return will require you to wait for a manager to come talk to you and approve or deny it," they wrote.

"As long as you're not a d**k you'll just have to deal with that. If you become hostile, you'll be banned and trespassed for at least a year."

One Costco shopper canceled their membership after being told they couldn't return a rotten piece of fish.

Meanwhile, another customer tried to return a television that was over 20 years old.

WHOLE Foods has confirmed plans to largely expand its operational footprint as it makes the most of new technology and processes.

CEO Jason Buechel who has been at the helm for a year and a half has announced hopes for the 30 new Whole Foods stores.

Whole Foods will continue to grow its operational footprint while introducing new store formats for those who are 'on-the-go'[/caption]

Not only that, but he hopes to see this level of expansion year on year.

"Everything from my perspective is going great," Buechel told Yahoo Finance at a conference in Califonia.

The CEO detailed how the Texas-based chain launched its 10-year vision for the company at the beginning of 2024 in which it vowed to "grow with purpose."

Buechel explained that the company would be focusing on "expanding our reach" and "serving our customers in more ways."

As well as this, the team behind the retail giant will be looking at how they can continue to serve customers while also helping the planet which the CEO said is its "higher purpose."

While discussing goals to expand, Buechel noted that the growth of Whole Foods is something he is "really proud of."

He detailed how the chain has gone from single-digit store growth to now having a goal of opening "30 plus stores a year."

In addition to this Whole Foods currently has 75 stores in development.

But talking of his annual increase of 30 or more stores, the CEO proudly acknowledged, "That's expansive growth that we have taken on."

"We are really excited about it because we've got a lot of customer interest a lot of communities that are looking for us to bring stores and I'm excited because we're going to be bringing new formats as well."

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

Buechel detailed how a new version of a Whole Foods store will first be arriving in Manhattan.

The retailer announced in March that it will launch Whole Foods Market Daily Shop which is a smaller version of the usual store.

"This will allow us to open stores where we can't fit another full physical whole foods market store," Buechel said.

"This will be an opportunity for us to serve customers in a new way and I think this will be a great opportunity, especially for fill-in shops for customers."

Explaining the new format, Buechel said that larger shops may be completed once a week at an original Whole Foods store.

Then, during the week for smaller items such as milk or bread, or items on the go, the new Market Daily Shop will come in.

<!--googleoff: all-->  <blockquote class="article__quote">    </blockquote>  <!--googleon: all-->

Regular Whole Foods customers will soon be noticing more changes that will benefit them including "seamless checkout" and lower prices.

Buechel highlighted how the cost of inflation has been "on the minds of many customers" and that as a result, the retailer has been working with its suppliers to try to limit the impact.

However, the "reality is inflation has been real," he said though Whole Foods has tried to minimize it for customers by increasing promotions.

The retailer will also be expanding its brands to offer more affordable products to customers.

John Lundstram's red card in Rangers' defeat to Celtic on Saturday afternoon was labelled 'madness' on a day to forget for the Englishman.

Celtic won the game 2-1 and are now on the verge of winning the Scottish Premiership, six points clear of Rangers with two games to play.

However, they were given a helping hand by their opponents, and specifically Lundstram, who scored an own goal and was shown a red card before half-time.

Matt O'Riley gave Celtic the lead and Lundstram's calamitous own goal seemed to put the home side in a very strong position.

Cyriel Dessers headed Rangers back into contention on 40 minutes but a ridiculous lunge from Lundstram on Alistair Johnston left Celtic with 10 players for the entire second half.

Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon had sympathy for the Rangers manager, who he felt would be fuming with Lundstram for the 'madness' he displayed.

'If I'm Philippe Clement, I'm absolutely raging, 100 per cent,' Lennon told Sky Sports. 'He's an experienced player.

'They've done great to get back into the game against a top team. They've shown good mentality, the shape has been alright. It's madness.'

Clement remained pretty measured after the game but admitted that the red card cost the team and he did not expect to see that kind of decision from an experienced player.

'It makes a massive difference, of course,' he said. 'Lunny will be the first one to know that, but it's decision making, wrong decision making in that moment.

'He knows. But I don't forget all the good things he did the last couple of months for the team and the last couple of years for the club.

'So everybody makes mistakes, you don't expect from an experienced guy that mistake in this game but it is what it is and we have to move forward now.'

Brendan Rodgers is on the brink of a Scottish Premiership title with Celtic (Picture: Getty Images)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was actually a bit frustrated that his team did not press home their advantage further, with a nervy ending to the contest.

'We made the game really tense at the end when there was no need for it to be,' he said.

'We're not over the line yet, but we're in a great place. We need to recover and look to finish the job on Wednesday.

'It's always the best team that wins after 38 games. We're not there yet, but the finish line is in touching distance.'

Nemanja Vidic has praised the mentality of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes ahead of Arsenal's Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

Saliba and Gabriel have been pivotal to Arsenal's impressive season under Mikel Arteta, helping the club keep 17 Premier League clean sheets so far this term.

Arsenal will be hoping for another solid defensive display at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as Arteta's side can retake top spot in the Premier League if they beat United.

And Vidic, who won five Premier League titles during his career with United, has been impressed with Arsenal's defensive duo.

When asked to give his verdict on the Premier League's best defenders, Vidic told The Sunday Times: 'I like talking about the young ones. Micky van de Ven, he's fast, strong and good in the air, and has capabilities to really improve.

'The two from Arsenal [William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes] are doing well. Watching them, I feel they like defending and want the clean sheet. I like the mentality they show.

'And they are a partnership. That is important. Arsenal, this season, have not been conceding many goals and the situation when they went to City and didn't concede – that was a statement of Arsenal as a team. That they want to win the trophy. Not just play nice. I think that's good. Finally!'

Nemanja Vidic insists Manchester United's current run of form will help Sir Jim Ratcliffe assess the squad (Getty)

Meanwhile, Vidic believes United's current poor run of form under Erik ten Hag will help give an accurate assessment of the squad for Sir Jim Ratcliffe's ahead of the summer transfer window.

'Everything comes from the top down. Especially values,' Vidic said.

'For the new management it's not great that United is in this situation it is – but it's good for them to see the capability of the players. Almost to see the worst of Man United.

'I look at Sir Jim Ratcliffe, he is a very successful person in his businesses and not by accident. He has so many people under his management and understands the importance of structure and mentality and culture.

'Looking from the outside, I think what he's trying to do is to put the right leadership in the right areas and create a winning culture. I think everyone is waiting for Manchester United to win. Not just United fans.'

Martin Zubimendi has attracted a lot of attention at Real Sociedad (Picture: Getty Images)

Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil has insisted that Martin Zubimendi will still be at the club next season, despite interest from the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The central midfielder has been at Real Sociedad for his entire professional career and they are keen to keep hold of the Spain international despite interest from huge clubs.

The 25-year-old has been an incredibly reliable performer since breaking into the first team on a regular basis in the 2020/21 season, making over 40 appearances in each of the last four campaigns.

His reliability has attracted the attention of Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich but Alguacil is certain that he will not be leaving the club this summer.

Alguacil told reporters: 'Martin Zubimendi wants to stay here and for sure he will stay with us at Real Sociedad next season. I have no doubts, he's staying with us.'

Last month Zubimendi spoke to Spanish newspaper Marca on his future, saying: 'They are just rumours, I am happy at Real Sociedad, it is like my home.

'I cannot say that I will play my entire career at Real Sociedad, perhaps the club won't want me to continue in the future. But I do not concern myself with these rumours.'

Zubimendi appears in no rush to leave Real Sociedad (Picture: Getty Images)

The holding midfielder is under contract until 2027 so there is no rush to cash in on him this summer, although that might be more of a concern next year.

Real Sociedad are currently sixth in La Liga and on course to qualify for the Europa League next season, but are extremely unlikely to be able to offer Champions League football next season.

Barcelona have reportedly met with the agent of Zubimendi as they pursue a move, while a big-money bid from Arsenal perhaps became less likely this week as Jorginho signed a new one-year contract with the club.

Mikel Arteta has a lot of respect for Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag (Picture: Getty Images)

Mikel Arteta has backed Erik ten Hag as an 'excellent coach' and hopes to see the Dutchman stay on as Manchester United manager next season.

Ten Hag is under a lot of pressure as Red Devils boss and there is plenty of doubt over whether he will hold onto his job at the end of the campaign.

Manchester United sit eighth in the Premier League table after a 4-0 thrashing at Crystal Palace last time out and have a tough test against Arsenal on Sunday, with the Gunners needing a win to return to the top of the table.

Arteta is very firmly safe in his job at the Emirates, and asked about Ten Hag's future he hopes that the Dutchman avoids the sack, rating him highly as a coach from his time at Ajax and now in England.

'I can only talk about what I think about him as a coach. He's an excellent coach. I admire his teams, both Ajax and United,' Arteta said of Ten Hag.

'I know what he's trying to do, I know how he does it, I know how difficult it is to prepare against him, so I have huge respect for him.

'Hopefully, yes, he gets the time because we are colleagues and we know how difficult it is in this league and what the margins are and yeah, hopefully that's the case because I think he is an excellent coach.

Erik ten Hag will aim to ruin Arteta's title push on Sunday (Picture: Getty Images)

'If you want to win the Premier League and big trophies, you have to go to these grounds and impose yourself and beat them. That's the journey we are on and that's for sure what we are going to try to do on Sunday.'

Ten Hag has consistently defended his questionable record at Manchester United, pointing to the huge amount of injuries the squad has suffered over the campaign.

Asked if he is concerned about his future, he said: 'No. The [owners] have common sense.

'You see when we have 32 different back lines, we've used 13 partnerships in centre half, when they see we don't have a left back, they know that will have a negative impact on results.

'It's a huge FA Cup final [coming up against Manchester City]. We are happy to be there. It can be a highlight for this season. We know the reasons we are underperforming is because of the injuries. No team will perform when you have so many injuries in key areas.'

Amad Diallo arrives with the United squad (Picture: Getty)

Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have not made the Manchester United squad for today's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Club captain Fernandes missed Monday's 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace having been seen wearing a bandage on his wrist last weekend.

While he returned to training this week, he has not been deemed fit enough to return today.

Amad Diallo comes in for this first Premier League start with Antony dropped to the bench.

Scott McTominay is available after recovering from his knock with him and Soyfan Amrabat coming into join Kobbie Mainoo in midfield with Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount making way.

Mount is ruled out after suffering yet another injury in training this week.

Jonny Evans and Casemiro continue at centre-half with no other options available.

Bukayo Saka meanwhile starts for Arsenal despite being a minor doubt midweek. Takehiro Tomiyasu was also a fitness doubt but he continues his role at left-back.

Mikel Arteta names an unchanged side for the fourth game in a row.

Man Utd XI: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Evans, Dalot; Mainoo, Amrabat, McTominay; Amad, Garnacho, Hojlund

Arsenal XI: Raya, Gabriel Magalhães, Tomiyasu, Saliba, White, Ødegaard, Rice, Partey, Trossard, Havertz, Saka

Thomas Tuchel is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season (Picture: Getty Images)

Thomas Tuchel says there have been no discussions with any clubs as he considers his next move after Bayern Munich.

The Bayern boss is set to leave the German giants at the end of the season after a disappointing season which will see them finish the campaign without any silverware.

The former Chelsea boss is currently the bookmakers' favourite to be the next Manchester United manager, with Erik ten Hag's job very much under threat.

The Dutchman can still end the season on a high with an unlikely win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final, but if he fails to and misses out on European football, then he could be out of a job at Old Trafford.

Tuchel is likely to be in the frame if Ten Hag moves on, but he says there have been no talks so far and he has no clue where he will work next after Bayern.

'I've no idea. I'll think about things in peace,' Tuchel said of his future. 'Things have been clear since February. I'll take my time. There's been no discussions with other clubs.'

Bayern were beaten in the semi-finals of the Champions League by Real Madrid earlier this week and are third in the Bundesliga, 15 points behind Bayer Leverkusen.

Tuchel says there has been no lack of effort from his side, but could not hide the fact that the campaign has been a bad one by the club's sky high standards.

'I'm not a fan of public assessments. Many factors play a role in assessing a season,' he said. 'Personally, I'm not happy with the record.

'When you sign for Bayern, you sign to win titles. We didn't manage that this season. But we gave it our best shot. The fans in Madrid felt that too.'

Tuchel has two more matches in charge of Bayern, unless the club and manager perform a U-turn, hosting Wolfsburg on Sunday before going to Hoffenheim next weekend.

Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League after losing to Tottenham, while Luton Town are also heading back down to the Championship.

Vincent Kompany's side needed to win at Spurs on Saturday and have results elsewhere go their way to stand a chance to stay in the English top-flight.

The Clarets led through Jacob Bruun Larsen's first-half opener but Tottenham came from behind through goals from Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven.

Burnley, who stormed to the Championship title last season with 101 points, have only recorded five victories from 37 Premier League games.

Manager Kompany said: 'I'm very lucky to be surrounded by good people, hardworking players, staff and fans who have backed the club for generations. That's who we try to do it for every weekend.

'Today the Premier League is over but tomorrow we start day one of doing everything we can to get back to the Premier League.

'The game has gone a bit like others have gone for us this season. We created chances but the one where we missed the final pass.

'I'm not here sulking and feeling sorry for us but if you take every game, every season as a learning experience, this is step we need to get into our game.'

Luton are on the verge of relegation after suffering a 3-1 defeat to West Ham in David Moyes' final home game in charge of the Hammers.

The Hatters also led through Albert Sambi Lokonga's early strike but goals from James Ward-Prowse, Tomas Soucek and George Earthy saw West Ham turn the game around and effectively send Luton down.

Rob Edwards' side secured promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs but, like Burnley, have found life tough in the top-flight, losing 23 games.

Luton are three points from safety with one game remaining but 17th-placed Nottingham Forest have a vastly superior goal difference, meaning they are now virtually safe.

With bottom-placed Sheffield United's relegation confirmed at the end of last month, all three promoted sides are heading back down to the Championship.

Luton striker Carlton Morris said: 'It's emotional. I watched the video last night that Wolves put out about mental health and it made me see how much football means to fans.

'So going over at the end [to the Luton fans inside the London Stadium] and standing there for 10 minutes, with them clapping and screaming for us, it touches a nerve.

'These guys work all week to come and watch us kick a football about. I can be proud of myself and my teammates and know the club is moving in the right direction.

'We would never give up and down tools. We have been fighting against the odds, there is a clear budget difference and some quality in the division.

'I've loved it. We have been competitive and the fans know that. We've scored a lot of goals, been in some thrillers.

        </div>

'I have learned so much this season, I'm evolving and our team is evolving. What happened to Tom Lockyer it shows how lucky we are to be in the situation we are in. I'm proud to lead this team out.'

Luton boss Edwards added: 'I'm an emotional person and walking over to our supporters and seeing their reaction brought me to tears.

'The love and affection they have given us, which goes both ways and is unique in football these days.

'I feel devastated, I didn't want to let anyone down and I feel responsible. I thanked the players and staff, they've given me the best 18 months of my life.'

Ange Postecoglou insists Tottenham will 'have a crack' at Manchester City despite the fact a positive result against Pep Guardiola's side could hand Arsenal the Premier League title.

Man City are two wins away from a record fourth successive Premier League title after they thumped Fulham 4-0 on Saturday afternoon to move above Arsenal at the top of the table.

The Gunners will return to the summit if they beat Manchester United on Sunday, but the title remains in City's hands as they have a game in hand – against Tottenham on Tuesday night – before the final day of the season.

Spurs fans have mixed feelings ahead of the Man City clash as while a win would keep their Champions League hopes alive following Saturday's victory over relegated Burnley, it would also give Arsenal a huge boost in the title race.

If City drop points at Tottenham and Arsenal win their remaining two games – against United and Everton – Mikel Arteta will likely get his hands on the Premier League trophy due to their superior goal difference.

Looking ahead to Spurs' penultimate game of the season, Postecoglou said:'We've still got six points to play for, that's the key thing for us.

'We've got a big game on Tuesday night against Man City, that'll be a great test for us. Then we've got Sheffield United away so let's see where we can get to and where we end up playing our football.'

Asked if he believes Spurs have what it takes to defeat the reigning Premier League champions, Postecoglou added: 'I think we've got what it takes to make a game of it and play our football and see where it takes us.

'They're an outstanding them. Them and Arsenal are the benchmark [in the Premier League] right now, they're 20-odd points ahead of us so we've got some ground to make up.

'But it's at our place, it's 95 minutes of football and we're going to have a crack.'

Spurs have largely impressed in Postecoglou's first season in the Premier League, though four successive defeats prior to the Burnley win may cost them a place in the Champions League.

Tottenham are four points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa ahead of their final two games against Man City and relegated Sheffield United. Villa, meanwhile, face Liverpool on Monday and Crystal Palace on the final day.

'For us this was always going to be a year of building and it always unlikely we would get through it unscathed [with injuries],' Postecoglou said.

'We've stayed competitive in the league and always tried to play our football. We've got two games to go and we want to finish strong.'

Asked about his hopes of making the top four, the Australian added: 'It's about being the best we can be.

'Irrespective of where we finish it is important that we strengthen in the off season and I know the players who have been through this year will come back strongly.'

Tottenham beat Burnley on Saturday (Picture: Getty)

Tottenham trailed Burnley following Jacob Bruun Larsen's first-half opener but equalised through Pedro Porro before Micky van de Ven scored an 82nd-minute winner to send Burnley down.

On the impact of Dutch defender Van de Ven, Postecoglou added: 'He's not a bad player is he? He's outstanding and that's the exciting thing for me – it is his first year in Premier League football.

'Same with Destiny [Udogie], Pape Sarr and [Guglielmo] Vicario, too. We have so much growth in this team and Micky is at the forefront of that.

'I can't think of too many players who have made such an impact in their first year of Premier League football, and knowing he only really had one year in the Bundesliga. It's not like he's a seasoned professional.

'He has had a few injury problems but when he's played he has been outstanding.'

Bethany England celebrates after Spurs beat Leicester in their FA Cup semi-final (Picture: PA)

Tottenham captain Bethany England will lead her team out at Wembley on Sunday for the club's first women's FA Cup final.

The England striker had a trophy-laden career at Chelsea before making the move across London last year and now she is determined to help Spurs lift the FA Cup for the first time by beating Manchester United.

England, who also won the European Championship with the Lionesses in 2022, hopes her experience can be a crucial factor in turning Spurs into trophy winners.

Ahead of the final, she talks silverware, becoming a leader on and off the pitch and enabling her club to believe they can 'achieve bigger and better things'.

You won a lot of silverware with Chelsea but what is it like now being on the brink of clinching a first women's FA Cup for Spurs?

I just want to win everything. I want to be the best I can be at what I do and I want my team to succeed.

There are different meanings behind winning at both clubs. For me, I'll never forget winning my first FA Cup at Wembley, especially with a team like Chelsea.

It was what most people dream of and to be in a position now where I could lead a team out with the captain's armband at a sold-out Wembley, potentially raising some silverware the club has never had for the women's side – and where it's been a long time since the men's side won any either.

England is having a huge influence over her team-mates at Tottenham (PIcture: Shutterstock)

We know it would be a huge moment, a monumental occasion for the club and it would be something that I would very much treasure for the rest of my career.

What's it been like as captain of Spurs this season and does it come naturally to you to take a leadership role on and off the pitch?

I'm a very strong character in that I hold my beliefs, my values, very highly. I've always spoken out on things I believe in, both in football and life.

As we grow older, we gain more experience. I've become more confident in speaking up. It gets to a point where I think you live so many experiences that you just kind of want to help people.

The captaincy role is not something I ever saw myself having and I was quite shocked when I got asked to take on that role. I've learned a lot about myself and the skill set I have or that I've picked up.

I'm a very caring, personable person, my values and my beliefs on fairness and everyone having a voice but not just being able to speak up but to be heard as well. And I think a lot of that comes into the leadership of trying to lead the team, making sure that everyone feels valued.

Everyone has a key role to the success of that team. And not only that but also link into it off the pitch. I feel like everyone does have a voice and if mine can help ignite some confidence in someone else to speak up and use their voice, then why would I not want to do that?

Because ultimately, I would just love it if everyone's in a safe, happy, healthy environment. Obviously, that is not the world we live in today. But the more people that can advocate for these situations, the better.

How do you think the move from Chelsea to Tottenham has developed you as a person and a player?

I learned a lot there. I worked with a lot of different people from different countries and learned different styles of play.

And in a way I feel like I learned so much without realising what I've learned until you need to use those experiences. I've been around such amazing leaders, not just at Chelsea but England as well, and being able to take that into Spurs has been massive.

I can use those skills to help the team's mentality, to be able to want to win more and do more. And believe in ourselves that we can achieve bigger and better things.
