Super Bowl winner Darius Slay set for release in shock move after Eagles win over Chiefs
The Eagles are releasing cornerback Darius Slay, according to a report. Slay, 34, started every game in the postseason and ultimately played a pivotal role in helping Philadelphia beat the Chiefs 40-22. But according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Super Bowl LIX winners are parting ways with the defensive back. Slay will be designated as a post-June 1 release, saving the Eagles $4.3million in cap space. Slay signed a three-year, $42million deal with the Eagles in 2023, with $23million guaranteed at signing.
