Janelle Alston'sson might just beA Bug's Life's biggest fan.

In a video shared toher TikTok, the proud mom, 33, captured the moment her son Marcus, 2, got emotionally invested during the animated kids' movie. Marcus could be seen leaning back during the clip, shaking his arms.

He continues freaking out, saying "oh no" over and over again until finally he falls to the ground. "I didn't realize it was possible to get this stressed out fromA Bug's Life," Alston joked in her caption.

Now, the Washington-based mom tells PEOPLE that this actually wasn't her son's first time seeing the movie — or even his second.

"Believe it or not, it was probably his third time seeing it just that day," says Alston. "But we had family over, so it was the first time they had watched the movie with him, so he was extra excited to show them his new favorite movie."

"When we're watching something he really likes, he always makes sure that everyone around him is paying attention," continues Alston. "So he was grabbing our arms and screaming, 'Oh no!' once Princess Dot started getting chased by the bird."

Alston says she thinks her son is getting so invested because he's finally at the age where he understands the plot.

"I think he's just getting to the age where he's really starting to understand what's going on in movies that we watch, so once the bird started chasing the group of bugs, he realized that they were in trouble and took on the stress for them," she explains.

Thankfully, Marcus still had a good time by the end of the movie.

"He absolutely loved it still!" says Alston. "He usually rotates what his current favorite movie is, but this one stayed in the rotation for a while!"

Marcus' reaction isn't contained to justA Bug's Life— Alston says the tot had a similar reaction when watchingCars.

"The first movie he ever fell in love with wasCars, and it was also the first time he started really reacting to the scenes," says Alston. "In the first movie, when Lightning McQueen is weaving through the multi-car accident, Marcus would excitedly scream, 'Oh no!' until Lightning made it out safely."

"And in the thirdCarsmovie, when Lightning has his big crash (sorry, spoiler alert!), he would get sad and wanted a hug," she says. "I guess he's always been invested in the characters!"
