With Halloween right around the corner, people have finished putting out their spooky decorations. Everyone has decked their homes with spider webs, skeletons, pumpkins, and more. For those of us with Black Cats, our feline friends serve as decoration, too. One Black Cat is particularly spooky this Halloween, and he’s fitting right in with the rest of the Halloween decor.

A dwarf Black Cat named Buddy is making his rounds on TikTok. In the clip, this kitty shows off his “vampire fangs” to the delight of viewers all over the world. Everyone wants to see the teeth on this precious kitty!

Buddy is too cute! This good boy sweetly looks at his momma before jumping up to give her a kiss. This baby is diagnosed with dwarfism, which means Buddy has disproportionately short legs and a short snoot caused by a genetic mutation affecting bone and cartilage growth. This shorter snoot is why his “vampire fangs” stick out of his mouth so prominently. Luckily, kitties like Buddy can live totally normal and healthy lives despite their condition!

People in the comments can’t get enough of these unique teeth. One person said, “He put his fangs in wrong!!! He’s so super cute.” Another viewer commented, “OMG, I just want to kiss him and squish him.”

Others thought Buddy might have a twin, such as the TikTok user who commented, “Nosferatu would have been a perfect name for them. OMG, I’m in love.”

Luckily, people are seeing Buddy for the precious kitty that he is despite his dwarfism!

What To Know About Caring for a Cat With Dwarfism

Caring for a cat with dwarfism isn’t too challenging, but it does require a bit of special attention to keep the cat happy and healthy. Paying special attention to joint health, mobility, and weight management is important, as the condition puts extra stress on their bones and spine.

First and foremost, regular veterinary visits are important. Schedule checkups annually to monitor skeletal development, joint health, and organ function, and watch for signs of arthritis, stiffness, or chronic joint pain. Vets may prescribe anti-inflammatories or pain relievers if needed. Joint-support supplements can also help protect cartilage.

You’ll also want to manage your cat’s weight. Extra weight in certain places can be dangerous and place painful pressure on short legs, bowed limbs, and the spine. To ensure your cat maintains a healthy weight, feed them a high-quality, balanced feline diet tailored to your pet’s age and lifestyle.

Lastly, dwarf cats should strictly stay indoors to protect them from hazards they can’t easily run from or navigate. Use low-entry litter boxes to avoid putting extra stress on joints, and provide soft pet ramps or low steps near couches, beds, or favorite resting spots so they can climb up and down safely without high-impact jumping.

While this may sound like a lot, these are simple adjustments that can vastly improve your dwarf kitty’s quality of life. Cats like Buddy need loving human parents who’ll provide their feline friend with whatever they need to feel safe and content.
