America ends 2024 in style! Thousands descend on Times Square to welcome in the New Year (despite fears of a washout)
New Yorkers are ringing in the new year alongside one million people who braved the forecast rain to pack into Times Square and watch the iconic ball drop. Festivities were well and truly underway on Tuesday hours ahead of the midnight fireworks extravaganza. The iconic current New Year's Eve ball drops for the final time tonight, before it is retired to the museum in the newly restored One Times Square and replaced.
